New product advancement involves making a series of decisions that convert vaguely defined customer desires and needs into a final product. Two important, nevertheless often forgotten, product development decisions are (1) the classification of requirements as obligatory or optional, and (2) the prioritization of requirements. This analysis effort address the current lack of theoretically nicely practical techniques for classifying and prioritizing item requirements simply by focusing on 3 primary aims. The initial objective is to develop a structured approach intended for classifying and prioritizing merchandise requirements. The 2nd objective is by using the methodized approach to gather, analyze, and aggregate stakeholder input. The third objective is to use the structured approach to support both group and person learning.

The first target was accomplished through the expansion and demo of a structured requirement research model (SRAM). SRAM's advancement involved integrating methods and concepts from the following knowledge domains: need analysis, Multi-Attribute Decision-Making (MADM), market alignment, organizational learning, and intellectual decision theory. The second and third objectives were completed through the implementation of SRAM to resolve two diverse case studies. The main case study included classifying and prioritizing functional requirements for a proposed knowledge–based CAD architectural system. In comparison, the second case study was centered on evaluating option vision claims for a talking to group. After successful completion of both circumstance studies, SRAM was formally evaluated by case study participants and a controlled group that would not participate in either case study. Hence, the three major objectives on this thesis were verified and validated by means of case study setup and impartial evaluation.

SRAM uses MADM as a solution framework intended for classifying and prioritizing item requirements. Requirements are evaluated using market orientation primarily based (market goal, risk, client value, and performance) qualitative (fuzzy linguistic) and quantitative decision conditions. Within this MADM framework, the Analytical Structure Process (AHP) and entropy weighting are used to derive feature importance weight loads and determine stakeholder choice structures. Exactly where pairwise comparison inconsistencies will be passively corrected using a geometric averaging process of constructing supertransitive approximation to binary matrices. Each stakeholder's requirement categories and goals are extracted via the hierarchical application of the Technique for Order Preference By Similarity for the Ideal Remedy (TOPSIS). While the results intended for an aggregated group of stakeholders are established using measured Borda Scoring and heuristic decision guidelines.

Through the initially and second case research, it was found that resolving real-life problems requires understanding the two how decision-makers should ultimately behave and just how they actually react. Accordingly, quantitative results made using classic decision evaluation methods had been qualitatively examined using the important elements of very good decision-making (framing, gathering brains, coming to a conclusion, and listening to advice from feedback) as being a conceptual foundation. The organized application of methodized decision-making was utilized to resolve conflict, develop consensus, define preferences, right inconsistencies, and highlight important issues. Emphasis was put on supporting person and group learning through structured decision-making.
